I wish I could give it no stars! The Waffle House in Pooler, GA has the absolute worst service I've ever encountered! Our waitress approached our table after reluctantly climbing out of her seat, then left to go back to her conversation without taking our drink order. This went on the entire stay. The food was good because the cook was the only one working. When we told the waitress the service was awful, she turned to another employee and said, "Don't embarrass yourself!" I'm actually making a formal complaint.
Came in about 1130 on labor day, grant it, waited maybe 3 minute to get 2 open seats which ended up being at the"bar" area. Spent the next 10 minutes sitting there with zero service. There was about 6 people working and not one had the courtesy to acknowledge us or help us. We left and went to the cracker barrel right down the street- better service and was actually helped.
Diners in general can be a sketchy and even frightening experience. This Waffle House is the exception. The team here really knows the meaning of service. The entire staff seemed to be genuinely enjoying being at work so it was hard not to smile while there. Fully expected to be swept up in the action of some freedom fighting trucker plot...like Convoy maybe. A real thick slice of americana. I would visit this location again.
Friendly staff. Quick service. Tasty food. There's something to be said for an open kitchen. Yes, you hear each order, but you can see the staff and their ethics. Are they careful and clean? I watched them wash hands multiple times.
First off when I walked in two people looked me dead in my face didn’t greet me it took like 10 minuets till I was waited on. Second my order had bacon, the cook had NO gloves on when he went to get the bacon out the fridge when I finally got home to my food the bacon looked atrocious. I would’ve been okay with everything but dude had on no gloves making my food, whole meal in the trash. Do better.
