Also, you have to carry insurance. It is required. They have insurance (conveniently enough) or it's a $2 monthly charge to provide your own insurance. My renters insurance covers storage units which helped in my situation. I wasn't thrilled to say the least, although it isn't a bad place. You get what you pay for, right?
BEWARE JUST GOT ROBBED. SECURITY CAMERAS HAVENT WORKED FOR 3 months was told by the cops and employees! Poor service . THE SECURITY GATE CODE DIDNT WORK OR THE ONE FOR TEMP CONTROLLED STORAGE. Anyone can log in with emergency code .The last one wasn't changed for months . I would never recommend this to any of my military,gulfstream ,& college friends of mine .i lost practically my whole apartment and family pictures.Havent been there but 3 Weeks and The Employees saw me move my stuff so be cautious of them as well as other people coming in and out. Numerous Units Robbed but they won't tell other people renting but not all units .Why just rob a few ?but no other section got robbed only my temp controlled .
The call center has no idea how their various facilities work. I was told multiple times that I had to provide my own lock and that we would just have to remove the green indicator tab. Even the guy I spoke with this evening, when my boyfriend stopped by to check the unit, said the same thing. I am in PA for medical reasons and my boyfriend was supposed to move my furniture into my storage unit tomorrow, but now he can't. Because they gave me bad information. I am beyond frustrated with the level of service from the call center. Learn your products. All I can say is I hope the local management is better.
Being military its hard enough-So with a last minute deployment- I was going nuts I was searching for storage and low and behold the voice of my savior said, "we have climate controlled storage units available." I came in right away and checked the units out- they were clean the facility was nice and cool. I couldn't be happier to get this facility at a moments notice. Fred and Dave are the epitome of Southern comfort- Thank you guys ever so much.
I saw a great deal on their website and signed up. It was a "1st months rent free" online special and what that really meant was $20 administration fee. He swiped my card before I knew what he was doing with it. I gave it to him thinking I was setting up the auto draft. He then asked if I had a special cylinder lock they need. I had my own lock and as he explained that it might not work. They need cylinder locks (like the ones they have for sale) The locks basically give them control of entry into the unit dependant on your payment/non-payment. *jeez* The office phone was ringing off the hook with impatient people. I actually heard a lady screaming at him, he offered to call her back but she wouldn't let him off the phone. The employee was patient with both myself and the callers.
When I got to my unit, I tried my lock and it fit fine AFTER the employee brought out an attachment (to which I can't describe, but it sufficed both our interests). The unit itself was very clean. I've been 3 or 4 times during the weekdays to drop off items and there's is normally customers there as well. The gate code boxes have worked, but the screen are all broken. I've never been able to read them due to shattered screens. Luckily, it's just a pin-code type.
